"What are your office hours"  The Masterpeace receptionist is available to take calls Mon-Thurs. 9am to 5:30pm, Friday 9am to 3:30pm.  Therapists schedule clients Monday thru Saturday  throughout the day and evening, but may not be able to answer the phone after hours.

"What is counseling?" Counseling is when you meet with a caring professional to talk about the events, people, situations and issues that are negatively affecting your ability to live a happy and productive life. At MASTERPEACE you can safely, comfortably, and confidentially discuss your thoughts, behaviors and/or feelings to make healthy changes to those events, situations, and issues. If you are in crisis, if you are considering suicide or if you believe you might otherwise hurt yourself or someone else, seek help at the nearest hospital emergency room.

  • Depression or Discouragement
  • Lack of Motivation
  • Excessive Stress Related to Employment, or Caring for Ill or Aged Loved Ones
  • General Dissatisfaction with Life or Relationships
  • Marital Difficulties
  • Sexual Dysfunction
  • Anger or Bitterness
  • Difficulty Dealing with a Child’s Behavior and/or School Problems
  • Drug or Alcohol Dependency
  • Loss or Grief
  • Feelings of Helplessness or Hopelessness
  • Difficulty with Concentration and/or Decision Making
  • Physical Ailments with No Obvious Medical Cause such as Headaches, Pain and Fatigue

Any time these or similar situations adversely affect your life, or the lives of people you care about, contact MASTERPEACE.

"How do I start counseling?" Start your healing process by calling our Intake Coordinator at 517-423-6889.  The Intake Coordinator will ask you for some basic personal and insurance information.  (Masterpeace does not obtain personal background information through the internet.)  The Intake Coordinator will verify your insurance coverage (if you have insurance) and match your needs with one of our qualified therapists.  Finally, your assigned therapist will contact you to schedule an initial appointment.

"Do you take insurance, and how does that work?" IMasterpeace participates with over seventy-five insurance plans including, but not limited to, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, M-Care (Blue Care Network), Aetna, ComPsych, Cigna, Magellan and Value Options, Medicare, and Medicaid.
To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Listed below are some helpful questions to ask:

"What are my outpatient mental health benefits in an office setting?

Do I have a deductable amount to meet first?
Do I have a Co-Pay/Co-Insurance or both?
Is Masterpeace in or out of network? (They can direct you to a website for in-network therapists).
What are out of network benefits?
Is an authorization Required?
How many sessions am I allowed weekly? Yearly?

"How will I pay for counseling?" During the intake process, our Intake Coordinator will discuss the fees and payment options with you. Your therapist will finalize the financial arrangements with you during your initial session.
